Employee Wellness + MK Platform
Walque and Red Tree Labs are working on a dual-use mobile application to create a wellness solution for employers and a platform for marketers.
How this Works: Employees earn reward points for each step they take. They earn bonus points and savings for walking in Walque-Friendly areas of commerce (big-box retailers to city shopping districts, malls, outlet centers and large foot print retail centers).
The Claim: "What Waze did for crowdsourcing traffic navigation, Walque will do for in-store targeted direct marketing and deal delivery."
The Scoop on Walque:
- Matt Sander, CEO & Jay Stevens, CTO of Walque LLC
- Initial development will focus on the Android platform, future releases targeting iOS & Windows 8
- Look out for their MVP and alpha pilot in August

The Scoop on Red Tree Labs:
- Software Development/IT Services consultancy based here with a "Startup as a Service” program
- Led by Tony Lynn (of LaxStats, and past Technical Director of WebMD)
- They have an interesting business model. "Some development investments are deferred initially, and at a later date the startup can decide how those expenses are settled: either in cash, equity, or a combination of both."
