TimeCUE | Employee and Time Tracking Has Never Been So Easy
America’s industrial backbone was built on workers like the ones depicted above punching the clock, day-in and day-out. Today, while the majority of the nation’s workforce doesn't work in factories or mills, the need to track employees’ time hasn’t gone away. From construction to lifeguarding, the ability to locate and track your personnel increases efficiency and provides peace of mind. Atlanta-based TimeCUE has created a cloud-based, mobile time keeping software that gives employers the ability to track their team and manage the clock in/out process seamlessly. We recently chatted with the company’s founder to learn more.

Founded by Harold Alexander (pictured above), “TimeCUE, a product of Alexander Software, Inc., is a new way of keeping time for employees,” explains Alexander. “We have both a cloud based and mobile application. With our cloud application, employees can clock in and out from their desktop or tablet. With our mobile app, employees can only clock in or out from locations their employers approve due to our utilization of geo-fencing technology. We linked our app with Google Maps, so employers can create an approved location without an address. This is great for lawn care, construction, etc.”
“We are solving a huge mobile timekeeping problem. Until TimeCUE, it was very hard to make sure a mobile employee was where they were supposed to be at the time they were supposed to be there,” he continues. “There are a lot of companies who have employees call into a phone system to verify their location or write their time and locations down to be faxed later. All of these methods are not secure and prone to errors. TimeCUE eliminates all of that. All the employer has to do is enter the addresses their employee is meant to go and have the employee download the app. TimeCUE takes care of the rest. We only charge a small fee per employee, per month with no setup fee and no cancellation fee.”
According to TimeCUE’s founder, none of his competitors have the accuracy of TimeCUE. “Our focus from day one was mobile with a cloud interface. If wanted, we also have a trust feature which allow employers to have their employees clock in and out without verifying their location,” says Alexander. “Moreover, TimeCUE works with access cards, which is great for warehouses. Lastly, we can also link with almost any payroll company to export time.”
Like a lot of inventions, TimeCUE was created by accident. “A few years back, we developed an application for the medical industry. After a few months, they requested an online time clock. So, we created it and embedded it into that application. Soon thereafter, another client came to us and asked for the same technology. At that point, we knew we had an opportunity and extracted it from the other application and created it as it’s own. The rest is history.”
Harold moved from South Carolina to Atlanta to go to college. “After I graduated I stayed and started working in computers,” he recalls. “I started Alexander Software, Inc. in 2007 and a few years later, I started developing TimeCUE. I felt Atlanta was the perfect city for it. I had roots and connections here and it’s a growing international city. I can’t see TimeCUE starting from anywhere else.”
