Most of us struggle with what to do and how to do it after college graduation. Meet the exception, Brandon Jacobs, a soon-to-be Georgia Tech graduate. He was able to spare a few minutes in between classes and working on Lunr (an app he and his friends developed) to chat with us about his ideas, his interest in startups, and what he’ll be doing after graduation.

Class of:
2015

What is your major?
Computer Science

What are you currently working on outside of class?
All my efforts are for Lunr right now. Lunr is an an app that allows users to view events, places, and treats happening in their area.

What past projects have you worked on?
I created a Kinect app that helps students study for upcoming tests in a fun way. I also rewrote various C/C++ functions for windows and created a multi-threaded cross platform REST API in C++.

What are your best technical or creative skills?
I am a really good thinker. I can come up with fast and efficient algorithms in a short amount of time.

What’s next on your list to learn?
Web Development, and I want to create professional level phone apps.

Why the interest in startups?
I love solving problems, and I feel like that is the main idea of startups.

What’s your ideal internship/job?
I want a job where I can solve new problems over time. My goal is to contribute something new to the world. I am also fond of anything that requires me to think really hard about what I am doing.

Post graduation plans?
I have accepted a full-time job at Microsoft.
