Acquisition News

Ekos, the venture-backed SaaS startup for the craft beverage industry that was founded in 2014, has been acquired by fellow North Carolina company, Next Glass, Details up on Hypepotamus.

Top Hypepotamus Stories

Following a Series B funding round, Samyr Qureshi announced he is stepping down from the Tampa-based EdTech Knack, which he has led for more than a decade. With the announcement, Qureshi answered some of Hypepotamus' questions about his experience building in the EdTech space. More here.

As families across the Southeast and the country prepare changes to SNAP benefits, Atlanta-based

Goodr

is stepping in for the local community.

Goodr has launched an initiative to provide groceries to families in need. Here’s how it works:
    • Families can submit requests for food support, and they will be matched with available donations.
    • Once matched, families will be notified and can pick up their grab bags at one of two locations:
      • Goodr Fulfillment Center (near the airport)
      • Edgewood location (near downtown Atlanta)

Mercedes-Benz North America has signed a lease on a space that will become its new research and development center in West Midtown, making good on a commitment to bringing a new tech hub as part of an ongoing consolidation into metro Atlanta. The German automaker moved from its U.S. headquarters from New Jersey to Sandy Springs in 2018. The success of the move prompted an announcement in May that the company would relocate another 500 employees here, mainly corporate and finance roles from Michigan, to create a base for the entire North American region.
