Local real estate brokers, Cushman & Wakefield shared some Atlanta-centric news in their monthly newsletter.

"For years we have heard the Metro Chamber and others promote Atlanta’s Fortune 500 dominance.  Atlanta has been touted as a city that can help large companies grow their workforce and provide access to the world’s top business markets all while lowering operating costs.  Something that hasn't been discussed as often is the impact these Fortune 500s have on our city’s startup community.  Partly because R&D budgets were slashed during the latest recession, we are seeing more and more large companies investing in or acquiring technology to maintain relevance and improve efficiencies in a rapidly changing business enviroment. Atlanta's place as a leader in Fortune 500s will only continue to expand our startup community as local demand increases for enterprise technology. This national trend has not gone unnoticed in the investment community as enterprise investments hit $5.4 billion YTD, nearly the same amount as the entirety of 2013."
