Whether you’re an investor or an entrepreneur, the most vital but least understood part of the investment process is due diligence, the deep dive into how investable a company really is. When done properly it can lead to success for both sides, but if misjudged, it’s a costly guarantee of failure.

Bernie Dixon, chairman and president of Atlanta Tech Angels expressed that only 50% of companies undergoing due diligence with ATA actually move to the funding stage. And it's even less in most investment organizations, so entrepreneurs need to be prepared for what to expect - with due diligence ranking high on the list of deal makers (or breakers).
