Soon to Launch | Life Science Startup Accelerator
Venture Lab is behind the launch of the new 2014 Southeast Regional Life Sciences Startup Accelerator here in Atlanta. The program teaches the business model canvas and customer development to better-fit therapeutics, diagnostics and medical devices startups. The program is open to early stage companies that are pre-clinical or have done minimal testing. Using the curriculum called I-Corps, the program will connect NSF-funded research with the tech, entrepreneur and business communities to create a stronger ecosystem for innovation.
The Basics:
- The program starts on September 10, 2014. It includes a 3-day kickoff, 5 weekly sessions (WebEx webinars or tours), and a 2-day conclusion. (Note: You will need to commit to one-day per week on top of the class time for this program).
- The kickoff and concluding sessions will be held on campus at Georgia Tech in Midtown Atlanta. Plan to meet in the Hodges Room on the 3rd Floor of the Centergy Building in Technology Square. 75 Fifth Street, Atlanta, GA 30308.
- Each team must consist of 3 or 4 members consisting of the following: Entrepreneur Lead, Principal Investigator, Technical leadership and Mentor.
- While they are looking at teams from universities and institutions based in and around Atlanta, they are not limited to these institutions. If you are from another institution in the southeast and would like to participate then go for it.
