Basement Beginnings: Oil Can Guitars

are two brothers that started with an idea and a humble workshop in their parents' basement  in Marietta, Ga. They have since turned their oil can guitars into a blossoming online business.

Bohemian Guitars (@bohemianguitars) was inspired  by the Lee's upbringing in Johannesburg, South Africa, where they saw musicians creating guitars from recycled oil cans.

These are guys you want to know, strumming guitars you want to hear.

The Scoop:

• They launched a Kickstarter campaign on January 15, 2013 with a goal of $32,000, and met that goal within 1 week.
• Currently fundraising  on Fundable.
• Featured startup at the 2012 San Francisco Music Tech Summit.
• They placed 3rd out of 10 international startups at the Global Innovators Competition at the GTS Summit in Palo Alto.
• They have also sold (sold out) online through Urban Outfitters.
