Winter break is here, and if you're a parent, you know the drill.

With school out of session, it is now about filling your kids’ schedules with camps.

Camps are not only popular during the summer months. They are available during every school break. The problem? Finding, comparing, and booking camps has become its own logistical nightmare that includes endless browser tabs, email chains, waitlist confusion, and missed registration windows.

Camps themselves aren't the issue. Metro Atlanta offers hundreds of options, from tech bootcamps to outdoor adventures. The real friction lies in the discovery and coordination process. And that is a burden that falls entirely on already-stretched parents.

Atlanta-based entrepreneur Kathryn Hatcher (in featured photo above) wants to make that process just a little bit easier.

Hatcher is the Founder and CEO of Camply, an all-in-one platform for parents to simplify camp planning.

“Our goal is to help families plan earlier, reduce the mental load of camp planning, and feel confident they have found the right camps for their kids,” she said.

How Camply Works

Parents create an account and select a plan ($69/year for founding members, the public price will be $89/year). Those users can then immediately start organizing camps and schedules in one place, including favoriting specific camps, adding camps to their calendar, and manage any waitlist they are on. The platform also allows families to match with other families so that kids can go to camp with friends.

The platform also includes the Camply Village, where Atlanta parents can share real camp reviews, coordinate camps, and connect with neighborhood families.

Right now, Camply is live for those looking to search over 100 Winter Break Camps in Atlanta, running between December through February. The platform also has early access to over 440 Summer 2026 camps. The platform will be fully open to the public on December 31.

Helping Busy Parents

Hatcher, a Clemson graduate who spent nearly eight years at Booz Allen Hamilton, launched Camply after experiencing the chaos firsthand as a working parent.

“Like many working parents, I was drowning in camp emails, spreadsheets, and missed registration deadlines,” she said.

The platform is built on two core insights: the need for centralized information architecture and the importance of peer coordination.

Hatcher said that launching the platform “underscored the role of community. Parents already coordinate through texts, WhatsApp, and school chats, and Camply is working to help families plan and coordinate together earlier in the process. As we grow, we are constantly learning from families and improving the platform based on feedback, including adding new search filters for dates and age ranges, with more features coming ahead of summer.”

What Atlanta Families Are Looking For

So, what types of camps are popular for Metro Atlanta families right now?

According to Hatcher, families are focused on sending their kids to camps that focus on the outdoors, incorporate in movement, and weave in strong themes (K-Pop Demon Hunters being a recent one).

“Well known institutions like Alliance Theatre, Fernbank Museum, Zoo Atlanta, Trees Atlanta, and The High Museum often sell out quickly. At the same time, local camps across the city are growing rapidly,” she added. “Camply partners with a diverse group of camps throughout Metro Atlanta, including Ready Set Fun in Sandy Springs, Aussie Kids with four locations across the region, Anyone Can Camps in Atlanta and Marietta, Evolve Soccer in Doraville, The Studios Brookhaven in Brookhaven, Snapology of Atlanta East serving Decatur, Spruill Center for the Arts in Dunwoody, Balance Dance + Gymnastics in Chamblee, and Oodazu with three locations.”
