ARRGGG! Startup Pirates Washes Ashore in ATL
pirates

After plundering and swashbuckling about 20 different countries on 4 different continents, the Startup Pirates program will finally drop anchor in the United States and Atlanta will be its first host city!  Founded in 2011 as a non-profit global organization, its goals are to build a better world through the empowerment of lubberly lads and lasses seeking more entrepreneurial waters.

Startup Pirates is an intense and fast paced one-week program that enables aspiring young entrepreneurs to get inside the startup world and learn how to develop a business idea. It combines hands-on workshops, mentoring and idea development with a clear focus on accelerating the development of early stage entrepreneurs. In the end, the teams will have the opportunity to pitch to investors and successful business leaders and receive prizes that enable them to continue to work on their business idea. Check out the program's global one-week agenda here!

So far, there have been over 50 Startup Pirates programs that led to the creation of +100 startups, including Uniplaces, an online marketplace for student accommodation,  Lost in Reality, a location-based storytelling app, and Nerdalize, which combines high performance servers with home heating. It's a constantly-growing community of young entrepreneurs, startup community leaders and mentors that are changing the startup environment wherever it takes place.

This first session of Startup Pirates in the US will be taking place this fall from August 8-15th at The Iron Yard's amazing downtown location. 35 curious, motivated, and passionate pirates will be selected for the program so stay tuned - early bird applications will be opening early June to see if they like the cut of your jib.  The Atlanta Startup Pirate crew is working hard to make this a memorable and truly influential program. To do this they are reaching out the amazing and vibrant Atlanta startup community for partners, sponsors, and mentors for this program. So shoot them an email at atlanta@startuppirates.org if you want to be a Pirate.

Have an idea and interested in diving head-first into the intense and exciting world of startups?  Don’t just tread water - come with us and become a Pirate.
