AI hiring tools are coming to Waffle House, thanks to this Tampa-based startup
It's been 2 years since we profiled Chattr for our community. Over the last few years, Chattr has expanded its product suite to include AI Assisted mobile onboarding and easy integrations into the HR Tech ecosystem providing clients with a true end-to-end hiring solution. The company has gained notable customers in the retail and restaurant sector and is now expanding its focus to a new market segment: senior living communities.
With Artificial Intelligence (AI) gaining headlines everywhere, this Tampa-area company is putting Conversational AI to work for employers with high volume hiring needs. Since bringing Chattr to market in early 2020, the company has engaged with almost 4 million applicants, auto-scheduled over 3 million interviews, and fostered almost a million hires for their customers.

“Our vision has always been to create a company that turned powerful AI and automation technology into simple hiring tools to change the future of frontline hiring… forever,” said Jim Schimpf CEO and cofounder.
“Over the last few years we've continued that vision with our "Automated Applicant Management System" powered by our AI hiring assistant that essentially allows our hiring teams to spend less than 6 minutes a day hiring by removing over 90% of the repetitive administrative tasks. With this new technology, we're changing hiring from the hardest to the easiest part of the day.”
With an early focus on restaurants, Chattr is proud to call Waffle House a national customer. “We were blessed to be introduced to Waffle House through Circadian Ventures, an Atlanta-based Venture Capital firm. With Waffle House being one of the last restaurants
to accept credit cards, we knew an AI technology solution would need to be proven before full adoption would occur. We partnered on a three month pilot program and within the first 60 days, both companies became aware of the long term impact it would make on both the employment experience and the overall company.”
Already the Chattr-Waffle House partnership is seeing results. “Waffle House takes great pride in understanding their business performance metrics. While they have experienced demonstrable success in areas such a number of interviews scheduled and held, the real success can be summed up when we hear comments like ‘Chattr is actually changing the lifestyles of our restaurant general managers.’”

Chattr is also supporting hundreds of senior living communities in the southeast and beyond. The company recently attended the Florida Senior Living Association conference in Orlando and spoke to many community operators and executives. The hiring crunch in senior living is a huge problem, and new federal staffing mandates have made the issue reach critical levels. Chattr’s screening capability is particularly valuable as specialty certifications are required to work in senior living.
All in all, the future is bright for this Tampa-based startup, bringing real value to employers and applicants alike, making more job connections through the use of AI technology.
