Today’s creative class is being forced to navigate “uncharted waters” in the Age of AI, says AdPipe CEO Andrew Levy.

“Creatives are being asked to figure out AI on the fly, deliver more with less, and keep quality high without a playbook. The uncertainty is real: does AI empower creativity or replace it? Messaging from the industry hasn't been made that clear,” he told Hypepotamus.

For AdPipe, AI can and should play an important role in the creative process. But AI tools can only be useful to creatives if the voice of a person or a brand isn’t lost. Now, creatives need to focus on leveraging AI in a way that enhances authenticity.

“When you cut through the noise, this is an inspiring time for creativity. AI makes it easier than ever to produce content. So true creative thinking, brand voice, and originality will be what separates the best brands from the rest,” Levy added.

Levy spoke to Hypepotamus ahead of a new creative-focused AI event, Modular, being put on by AdPipe in Atlanta this coming fall. The event will focus around authentic storytelling. Modular, taking place at the event venue The Eastern in Intown Atlanta, will include talks about futureproofing brands from podcast and YouTube stars Andrew Huberman and Casey Neistat. The day will also include strategy sessions for brands, creatives, and marketers looking to better understand the role of AI in the storytelling process.

Levy said the Modular event highlights the future of marketing and storytelling.

“There is no one-size-fits-all anymore. Creative teams need to adapt stories for different channels, audiences, and moments,” he said. “The future will be localized, personalized, and modular, so your strategy must be too.”

Levy spent years at the entertainment giant Live Nation, where he served as the Director of Sponsorship. In 2013 he co-founded Chispa House, an Athens, Georgia-based production company.

In the executive seat for Adpipe, Levy is helping marketers and brands turn video footage into their own high-performing digital library. This helps ensure that video content is used to its full potential.

He recently relocated from Athens to Atlanta, where AdPipe’s team and investor pool has grown. The team most recently raised a $6 million seed round from local early-stage firm Atlanta Ventures. The team also previously pitched on stage at Venture Atlanta and went through Engage, the 10-week program in Atlanta that helps B2B startups refine their go-to-market strategies and get in front of enterprise clients.

His move is also about being close to Atlanta’s creative world. Levy believes Atlanta — given its strong media hub — has the ability to be a leader in “authenticity” in the AI era.

Navigating an AI-driven startup through the fast-moving realities of early-stage growth is no small feat. But when Hypepotamus asked him “what keeps him up at night when it comes to AI?” he answered: The opportunity.

“AI is the great equalizer, creating room for innovation in ways we have never seen. I am more excited than worried. I want to see how we can contribute to shaping this new era.”
